2015 MARCH CARD SKETCH - FLAT AND SIMPLE

Okay, here we go with a simple sketch or what I am dubbing "Flat and Simple". If you have ever taken any of Jennifer McGuire's online card classes this sketch may look familiar. It's one of my favorite designs and you can decide to keep it simple or not. My sample uses only two stamps for this sketch but multiple stamps work well here also. This is also a "flat" card perfect for mailing. There are no doodads or layers on mine. All stamping and coloring was done right on the main panel and then only attached to a card base with no matting. Flat and Simple.

So have at it. Mix it up. I have also made one in reverse of the sketch (image in the center and sentiment on the edges) that I will post a little later. Sticky notes, washi tape or Post It tape works great for the masking.

I have another card using my sketch that I've been holding onto until it was sent out. This is the reverse of my first card having the focal point in the center and then the sentiment at the top and bottom. Flowers were colored with Copics.

So pretty! I tried making one of these the other day, fail! So I'll try again after the weekend. Won't be home... Going to visit my daughter.

ME TOO. No matter how many times I put that tape on my jeans, it tore my paper. I was using Ranger specialty stamping paper. I believe it may be "coated", not sure. One thing I did not try was switching out my paper. I need to give that a shot.

Gorgeous card, Farley!

I tried a monochromatic birthday card with blue trains and tickets, but it really lacked pop, so I will have to try something else.

Okay, those of you who think your version of this sketch didn't turn out...I bet they are great and you're being too critical. Gee, I don't know of anyone else who does that.

I think you should post them anyway. :D
