Sue - you should still consider pulling together a class for us.

Here's a page from Shimelle's Perfect Collection class.

Re: DIY embellishments

Post by pamcook »

I modified these embellishments - the hearts were pink and the 2 x 2 square had pink on it - so I flipped them over, inked the hearts w/distress ink and added 2 strips of blue paper and the stickers. The larger heart is stamped with "travelogue" (very hard to read because I can't wait for ink to dry...).

This one could have been in the messy category too - because, I actually pulled out a stencil (yes, I did!) to use.

I love that little face! Bath time in Pakistan. I think it's smart they bathe the little ones in a basin.

Re: Fabric and fibers and yarns

Post by katymjo »

There was still a bit of the plaid fabric left, so I made this bag. This is one of the projects I will be teaching at our Annual Craft Break in October. I thought I'd better get my brain in gear and make something new to take along! The same ladies come each time, so it's a challenge to come up with something different.

Tried spattering paint....It didn't feel natural. But I liked the effect.

Isn't it nice to have a rainy day for an excuse to stay indoors and scrapbook? Lovely pages Laurie!

Here's one I did inspired by both the hip kit blog and an old Shimelle sketch to scrapbook video. Too dreary out to get a good photo. These were taken at Woodland Park Zoo while we were in WA.

Here's another layout from our trip to the Outer Banks with Marianne. I have started putting pockets on my layouts to take the information sheets you get from places like National Parks.

I'm not sure whether this layout belongs here, or in the Diecuts challenge. I cut Tim's swirls from white-patterned vellum (CS Refresh, I think) and the sand dollars and starfish are cut from card with a pearly sheen to it, using a Cuttlebug die. That's Marianne on the beach at Nag's Head. The title is on the other page of the layout.

A very quick layout. I used one of Shimelle's sketches for a large photo but used 3 photos instead of one large photo. And I completed the journaling at the bottom of the page (Edmond's Marina).

I have since pulled off the photo and trashed the page.
Too much contrast and the wrong colors for the photo. Oh well. I learned quite a bit!

A little canvas I made up in about 10 minutes. This is a strange color to be using..but it kind of spoke to me. The dragonfly I'm told represents change, transformation, so I felt it was a good fit at this time in my life.
