2015 July Card Sketch

Hey all...yes, I am late! And I don't even have a good excuse.

PIE CHART CARD! I was playing around with a circle die and started to think of pie charts and all the fun things that can go into sections of one. Dry embossed patterns, patterned paper, stamped images, words...the possibilities are endless.

Since I am starting so late and we all seem to be so busy this summer with family and PAO challenges I made an Executive Decision to make this a July through August Card Sketch Challenge. YAY! And I am so behind that I haven't made a sample card yet. When I get back from my long weekend kayak trip I will make one.

Here we go...remember, this is just a sketch. Make it your own pie chart card any way you like. Oh, and have fun with it.

Here's my take on the sketch. Thanks for all the work you put into this Farley! Very much appreciated! This was one of my Stamps of Life sets from Stephanie Bernard. I quit getting her monthly kits as I was not using them so I was glad to see this sketch that I could take advantage of these dies and stamps.

That's the ticket Debbie! It was this very stamp and die set that gave me the idea. Your card is fabulous and I like the earthy colors you've used. Thanks for playing. I really need to make a card myself now.

I don't think I've ever been this late with my own card for my own sketch

I've been playing around with two old/new mediums. One is Splash Ink that I bought over 2 years ago from Judi of JudiKins at a stamp show. She was so amazing with what she could do with just 4 colors. I fell for it and finally pulled them out this past week to play with at my weekly craft group gathering. One of the other ladies also brought the new Color Burst to play with. Love that stuff also.

This card is a blend of both. The pie chart is all Color Burst. The background is Splash Ink. The background is a bit dull looking and that is due to using watercolor paper for it. It takes the color quite differently if you use Ranger Specialty Paper or a high quality gloss or semi gloss like JudiKins Krome Coat. For the pie chart I used Multi-Medium paper. This card is a bit of a hot mess but it ended up being what I envisioned and had a lot of fun experimenting with the paints to make it.
