Help with a Stamp

Post by mpizzazz »

I have had this bird stamp for several years. I just can't figure out how to use it. He seems so serious. I even tried coloring him in silly bright colors to see if it would help me or some silly words, nope..

He is about 2" H x 2 1/2" W. Can any of you stampers and cardmakers offer any suggestions? I would like to use him in the challenges. Is he a real species of bird, all you birders?

Well...she could use some eyeliner and false eyelashes, some lip liner to correct how her lips droop a bit. You know, so she has a bit of a smile? Or maybe she needs a balloon bouquet?

Pearls. She needs pearls and a witch's hat. And something to hold in those talons.

OOoohhh...great ideas Pam! She could use some ostrich-plume tail feathers as well - some that curl at the ends (reminiscent of a fiddle fern frond).

Terrific suggestions! Love the pearls idea.

Marianne the first thing I thought was what kind of bird is that supposed to be??? It's very Crow like. I have several realistic bird stamps that if I don't color them propely I feel like I've done the species a disservice. I have to overcome that one.

On second thought that looks a lot like an Oriole. So yellows, oranges and black with white stripes on the wings. Google Orioles...they're gorgeous. You can have a great time with colors.

Check out Hooded Oriole or Bullocks Oriole...they're the ones I have in the summer. Gone now.

OH! Maybe HE needs a tuxedo, top hat, and one of those lo-o-ng cigarette holders? (I refuse to be PC - birds should be allowed to smoke cigarettes if they want to.)
AND A MUSTACHE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A long handle-bar mustache. Today he looks so dignified to me!

love that top hat and cigarette holder idea!
And a witch hat for Halloween too.

Or maybe a party hat, it might make him seem more fun!

Ok, ok, I'll have to look at that set of accessories that Kristina Werner designed for Tim's crazy birds for some ideas. Thanks!

I feel the same way Farley about coloring birds, wouldn't want the birding police to get after me  We need some bird outlines so we can color them however we want.

Just had an idea - tuck something under his wing, like a broom.
