April 2016 Card Sketch Challenge

Post by paddlegal »

CLUSTER CARDS

if you've been following our discussion of PamC's amazing cluster embellishments you'll know where I'm going with this. Pam's embellishments inspired me to try one for a card and this is what I ended up with.

Get out those forgotten, leftover stickers, chip board, die cuts and of course those scraps of paper you can't let go of along with paper punches of all sorts and have at it. Make a bunch of embellishments and then use them for your card's focal point.

The embellishment on my card are all doodads I made myself and have been languishing in a drawer. This card went fast and easy to make. If it wasn't past midnight here I'd make more right now to share.

Goodnight...I'll add more to this challenge later Friday. Zzzzzzzz

Well, silly me...I was so tired when I "posted" this that I didn't realize I didn't hit submit! So at 3 am when I couldn't get back to sleep I realized what I had done and did hit submit. Doh! Anyway here are a few links to help you see what else you can do.

Oh Farley! I love those colors. You know I can't wait to give this a try.
Those of you with a ton of stamps should do at least one with masking/clustering images.

Great idea for using those clusters that might otherwise go unused. I might have one or two of those.

Great challenge and nice card Farley. I have to comment on your woodgrain cardstock; it's my absolute favourite.

Great idea. Do I spy a project life card? If so, congrats on using another one.

Thank you everyone! Happy to see some excitement with this challenge. Anything to use up our scraps and stash is a good thing, right?

Yes Jen, that's one of 1000s of those darn PL cards I had to have. My new mission is to USE them! And for those cards that have sentiments I will NEVER use...they will meet my friend, Ms Paper Punch and become flowers, butterflies and hexagons.

Pat your card is gorgeous and what a terrific cluster of the butterfly and doodads. I really like that background paper you used also...very pretty. Thanks so much for playing.

I made two clusters last night and got one onto a card. I hope to post it later today.

Great card, Pat. I like your cluster. I tried to make a cluster on my bird layout but it's not too cluster-y. I've been busy scrapping so I'll try to get on this challenge asap.
