Beach Week 2016 - Tool/Supply request

Post by pamcook »

Thought I would start this thread - actually started to add my request to Janet's but wondered if anyone would think to look there.

Punches I'd love to use (or buy if you want to sell yours) - anchor, postage stamp (I have one about the size of a first class stamp but looking for a larger one), and hexagon.

If anyone has sheets of vellum they'd like to sell, my stash is tragically small.

Does anyone still have any of the clear DVD cases? They're the clear, hard plastic cases similar to CD cases but 6 x 8. I bought one at the flea market and of course, the hinge is broken. You can make a redneck version of a MISTI with them and given that I only have one set of layer stamps which would really work well in one, I'm going to be happy with the redneck version.

What kind of vellum, Pam? I have quite a bit but most of it is old except for a few sheets of stars I bought for JYC last year. I could just bring the bag.

Any vellum. It's one of those things that sat on my shelf for-ever and recently, it seems I've used most all of mine. I thought that someone might have some they know they won't use, but don't think to pull it out to get rid of it. I know I can probably order some, but if you want to sell some of your stash, I'm your buyer (or trader!).

Not for sale or trade, but I do have a hexagon die that cuts 2-1/2" hexagons. I can bring it if you want to use it. I like that size because it's big enough to use for a photo. Yeah, ask me how often I've done that...

Love the redneck version of the misti tool, LOL. I wouldn't use one enough to justify the cost either, so that would work for me. I've never seen a clear DVD case; will have to keep my eye out.

I probably have some vellum hidden somewhere in this stash. I'll look and bring it along.

Pam just found 2 packs of 8 1/2 x 11 velum with patterns I'll bring them along.

Thanks Cheryl, Keitha, and Marianne.
If I can find the DVD cases, I'll bring as many as I can find.

I went to ScrapFest today; it's not huge, but the best we get around here as far as scrappy 'conventions' goes. I saw a Misti tool for the first time IRL - and was gobsmacked that they wanted $106.00 (CDN) for it!! In fact I was so shocked I didn't even really look at it; I couldn't get away fast enough LOL.

It's crazy expensive regardless what country you buy it in. So far I've not felt a real need for one. Love the idea of the dvd case style.

Pam,
What do you do with the circular edge and the snap in spindle inside the DVD case?

If anyone has a small portable iron they use in crafting would you please bring it along. I want to try something new I saw a video on today.

Brilliant. Think of the stamps you could buy with the money saved from not buying the brand-name tool.

If I had resisted all the tools I did buy and never used, I could buy a MISTI without guilt.

Do you all think the Stampin' Up! cases would be firm enough? If so I have a ton of them I no longer use. Let me know and I can bring them along.
