Pam Cook's June 2016 layouts
Re: Pam Cook's June 2016 layouts
I agree - you need some horizontal lines. It's not bad, it just needs "something."
Re: Pam Cook's June 2016 layouts
Pam, I'd say leave the page with photos as is and add photos to the left page. Too much stuff, not enough photos to focus on as a double page layout.
Sorry to be so blunt, we are languishing in a 1950s motel in Green River, Utah, drinking beer. It's 106 outside and we're on sensory overload after all the SCENERY we saw today.

And don't tell me, it's a dry heat!
Re: Pam Cook's June 2016 layouts
Have I ever mentioned how much I love Utah?
Tore it apart and kept the only part of it I liked. I might do a single page but I've made the mistake of sitting down. Might not be able to get up.
I think the problem is that I don't like whimsical papers with NC beach photos. Is that weird? When I think of NC beaches, I think weathered wood, greys, dusty blues, creams... I do like it better. Chances are I'll add enamel dots before I go to bed.

I know what you mean about cute papers. Some photos, I just don't want to be paired with cutesy stuff. I don't know why I continue to buy it because I often resist using it. Silly me.
I liked it before but I think I like it better now. I have NEVER torn anything apart. I admire your courage.

I thought I was going to use the sketch I posted earlier. The page said "no".
This is my grandpa. Maybe 1971? He almost never wore dress clothes - most always bib overalls and a long sleeve shirt. He worked so hard to provide for Grandma and their 11 children. Coal mining and farming. It probably doesn't get harder than that.

LOVE everything about your LO on Grandpa. He would also. The woodgrain background is ideal and your elements are perfect.
I really like version B of your torn apart LO. It really works now.

Well done, Pam. The extra photos on the double pager look good. Love the photo of Grandpa and the glimpses through the door at the yard.

I need to journal about that glimpse out the window. That was his parents farm (you can see the barn). I think Grandpa owned it at the time of the photo. Our cemetery is across the road from there.mpizzazz wrote:Well done, Pam. The extra photos on the double pager look good. Love the photo of Grandpa and the glimpses through the door at the yard.

Love your Grandpa page also. 1971............was a very good year. I never think to use anything feminine on a page for males but your use of a doily and flower like leaves really is ideal.

What Debbie said! I love your grandpa layout!
