Farley's July 2016 Kill-The-Kit Projects
Farley's July 2016 Kill-The-Kit Projects
I actually started working last night on my first LO for this month!!! I've chosen (sobbingly) my Kelly Purkey "Mon Ami" kit. It's a Basic Grey kit so when it's gone it's gone. I LOVE every print in this kit. Here's partly what is left of it. Later today after a special birding trip, I'll finish the LO that's in the works.

Hopefully today you will see the LO I started using your great July sketch...pretty much to the letter.

I think this may be one of my favorite pages ever! Partly due to this gorgeous paper and the other part to Jen's great sketch. It just really worked for me and my scrapping challenged self.
The Yolo Bypass this past winter and spring became one of my favorite places to bird. It's only about 20 minutes from home. This particular set of photos was taken in May for the annual Global Big Day. I used a lot of the little strip edges for accents, stickers and of course alphas which are all from Mon Ami. I hand drew with black ink around the title and page perimeter. The enamel dots from stash. Next will be a companion page with bird photos.

Um...you must be using your phone. Not sure what a dad's aid is. But thanks for the kind words.
I just removed the pink enamel dots...to anemic...and changed to an orangy red. Much better.

Darn Siri. Or DYAC....
Great layout and use of the sketch. So many things to look at and comment on. Perfect paper choice and I love the alpha title. Thanks for playing. So quickly.

I commented on this on the other thread, had no idea that was BG paper. Where was I when it came out I wonder...

Cripes, I can't even remember what I wrote. I should stick with my PC.
Re: Farley's July 2016 Kill-The-Kit Projects
Okay so here is the companion page to the previous one. I have now used up 9 of the 12 full sheets in this kit. (Crying my eyes out that it's nearly gone)
I cut leaves and semi circles from a scrap left from the other LO for my doodads. I decided the big open grey area needed something so I listed all the species seen at that location. I do like how it ended up. I'm showing also how they look side-by-side.
Only 3, 12x12 sheets, scraps and some alpha plus stickers left. I have plans for the remaining gorgeous leftovers. Gee it's only the 4th...I may have to choose another kit!

Wait till you see the LOs I hope to do this month on my own personal Big Day...there'll be 98 species listed. It will need a page all it's own.

I don't blame you for not wanting to use up the last of that BG paper. But it's worth it on that layout.
When it's gone, you could switch to the fabric line that uses those BG designs in a Moda Collection of the same name. It's fun to see some of the BG paper collections as fabric now.
