January 2017 Card Sketch Challenge - Accordian Card
Happy 2017! Here's my first card challenge of the new year and I hope you find it fun and useful for any occasion. I really like cards that let you use whole stamp sets or paper kits or both. The first card is filled with a wildlife set from Stampin Up and was used for a guy card. My friend really liked it. The second card and subsequent photos will give you the dimensions of this accordion card.

Next up is what will either be a valentine card or possibly my 30th anniversary card to Bob. So the interior is empty for now. All paper and stickers are from My Mind's Eye "My Story" kit.

Re: January 2017 Card Sketch Challenge - Accordian Card
Now for instructions. A 12 X 12 sheet of card stock will be needed for the card base. Cut the 12 X 12 card stock at 11.5 X 5.5 plus one more panel at 2.75 X 4.25 which will be attached as the very front of the card.
Scoring:
Place the 11.5 X 5.5 horizontally on your scoring board and score at .25, 3.75, and 7.25. (forgot to photograph that) Now turn the sheet vertically so the .25 score is at the top. Score at 5/8 ths of an inch from top down to the last score mark. Hopefully you might be able to see this in the photo. Now with scissors trim off that scored strip as shown in photo. Next take the 2.75 X 4.25 panel and adhere it to the .25 tab, lining it up from the bottom of the card base. Trim off the little bit of tab (see photo) still showing after panel is glued to tab. Now you're ready to add the fun stuff.
Matte and top layer panel dimensions:
Front & Inside panels X 2 cuts each
Base Matte 2.5 X 4 - cut 2 of these
Top Layer 2.25 X 3.75 - cut 2 of these
Interior Middle Panels X 2 cuts each
Base Matte 3.25 X 4.75 - cut 2 of these
Top Layer 3 X 4.5 - cut 2 of these
End Panel X 1 cut
Base Matte 4 X 5.25 - 1 cut only
Top Layer 3.75 X 5 - 1 cut only
Scoring:

Cool card idea, Farley, especially for those of us who don't have any of the fancy dies for shaped cards.
Re: January 2017 Card Sketch Challenge - Accordian Card
Nice cards Farley, and great use of that SU stamp set.

That is so funny..... I just saw that card on a video on YouTube and wanted to suggest it here... just hadn't had a chance to make any of my own. Yay.... glad you were able to!!
It's so versatile and gives us way more "creative room" on the card!

One of my weekly crafting buddies brought this card to us and I jumped on it. Yes, there are so many good cards from YouTube and SU and other sources for us to try out. This card could be fun for our holiday challenge also. I particularly like the idea of a scene going from one panel to another. Kind of scrapbooking style. And as Marianne said, no special dies are required.

Looking forward to trying this although that much real estate sorta gives me the willies. I think I'll have to fill it with patterned paper. I can't do that much stamping.

This is the perfect card to use all stamps in one set. I'm betting you have at least one...like hot air balloons. How cute that would be!

It would be a great way to send a few photos to a friend, grandma etc.
