Sometimes It Pays to Clean

I found some forgotten Michael's gift cards and a Barnes and Noble card thrown in with some stamps and dies that I keep meaning to use. I needed albums to try to corral some of these loose LOs, so Eureka! If I could only find some books that I want to read....

Cleaning netted me another trash bag of scraps, so it's been a good day. 4 LOs, 3 gift cards, and a little more room in here. Also found half of a bottle of Baileys that was hidden in here during the holidays (or was it me that hid and brought the Baileys with me??). Too bad I didn't stash some chocolate.

Cleaning...I've lost my motivation. Time to get back at it though. In my case, it's still more decluttering and purging.
Very cool you found the gift cards. Nothing like a monetary reward for hard work!

Yes indeedy, sometimes cleaning can be good. I have an altered frame here in the Glitter Grotto that says "one of the advantages of being disorganized is that one is constantly making exciting discoveries."

Cool, found gift cards. I'm slowly cleaning, purging. Found a necklace and matching earrings and a cross I'd misplaced. Pays to go through every box or bag before tossing. Still hoping my ruby ring will turn up!

I just went through my binge boxes with Maddie and she's taking them with her to Wilmington for art projects with two of her younger friends (10 and 6). One almost clear corner!

Not a bad weekend's work for someone with a horrid sinus infection. :(

I didn't do any crafting this weekend.... but I DID do some cleaning. Our laundry area had turned into a "stack it here" area.... for clothing, linens, etc. So I washed and sorted and even mended a couple shirts (the beads were coming off) and put new hooks on several bras (lots less expensive than buying new ones... not sure what was up with the hooks that were on them, but they were breaking) .... so that's like finding money, right? Now my laundry area is clutter-free and clothes are hung up and linens are folded and put away. Whoohhhooooo ... not sure what area I'll start on next, but I've got this weird cleaning bug right now. LOL

Well done, Debi! It feels good to get those pesky jobs out of the way.

And so, today, I was alone in my office so the cleaning bug hit me again (I'm sure it'll wear off eventually, so I'm enjoying the ride) and I've cleaned our office. Cords, cables, keyboards, mice... are all neatly stored in office boxes with labels on them... no more digging through a jumble of junk to find what we need. Of course, now I'm tuckered out... LOL

Wow Debi! Do you hire out? I've been cleaning and purging and packing and it's starting to look pretty good! Feels good doesn't it? I bet the office employees are pleased with your cleaning spree.

It was just my IT office. Not too many who look at it. LOL But maybe my boss will appreciate it. My one co-worker will have to pledge to keep it tidy. LOL

I'm not cleaning, but I dropped my sewing scissors next to my chair, and when I got on the floor to pick them up...low and behold, there were the earrings I thought were long gone as well. Score!!!

Pat, I've hit the age where, when I bend over, I look around to see what else I can do while I'm down there - too hard to get back up.

 Right there with you. Here's a shocker for you - yesterday's Flylady mission was to dust your dresser. Guess what? I had done it the day before. I know! Miracles - they're all around us - happening every day. Also, I have a bin in the trunk of my car so I can add stuff on a whim to take to the thrift store. I'm enjoying it now - doesn't feel so overwhelming any more.
