Day 1 of pre admission testing done. Tomorrow is another long day.

We did find out Greg's unrelated bone marrow donor lives in Poland. Greg is all Polish, so this is curious. We joke it's a long lost relative.
Germany is big in the donor system also.

It's possible, Pat. Too bad you can't do DNA testing on the marrow to find out.

Day 2 pre testing done. Whew. Driving here and there and back to hospital for different tests...not fun. Why they do not test in one location, is beyond me. Lots of sitting and waiting. Greg and I were reaching our limit by the end of yesterday.

So far all of Greg's tests are great.

We are waiting for bone marrow results to see where the blasts cells are. Important to have blast numbers at a certain point to move forward with transplant.

Thanks for all the comments, well wishes, good thoughts and prayers.

Hope all the testing continues to go well. There's nothing fun about it.... and none of the logistics make any sense. Keeping you both in our prayers!!

I'm cynical enough to put it out there - different locations most probably has to do with profit margin. Hospital systems are businesses. Enough said.

How wonderful that the donor is available - how amazing that the donor is from Poland! For all the annoying things we have to tolerate with computers, they more than make up for it many, many times over with all with the life-saving technology. I have the worst grammar but you all know what I mean.

Pat, please be extra careful with your health through all this. Praying especially for you today!

Pat I'm continuing to keep my very best thoughts for you two. All that driving around is hard on both of you, I'm sure. As Pam said you take care also.
Knowing that a donor is from Poland is downright cosmic! Hope today is an easier one for you.

Well you know it always comes down to money. ;)

I kept wondering how all these "sicker, older" people manage these appointments. It's crazy. For all Greg has been through these last few years, he amazes me as he navigates all of this. He keeps telling everyone he will be back up and running in record time, and they look at him sideways...like, he doesn't understand the serious nature. He is ever optimistic, and only wants to think of end result.

There were actually a few good donors, and that is a good thing. The DR said that a year from now, we may be able to contact the donor if it is welcomed.

Next week we are back to Columbus for a central line placement and chemo testing. The week after that is admission.

Thanks again everyone.
