Anyone have old mascara?

Post by nchoney »

I know... crazy topic, right? Well... I just read about a wildlife refuge/rehab place out in the western part of NC that uses those little mascara brushes to clean up little wild animals. they can get down into the fur and brush out little bugs and eggs....

They just need the brushes.... washed and dried. There are instructions on this website:

https://www.appalachianwild.org/

Those of you coming to the beach can just bring them with you if you want to clean out your makeup bags/drawers. I'll wash 'em and then we can send a package out to these folks. We can all sign a card or something and include in the package! Just a thought, if you're interested!!

Oh darn...I literally just dumped at least 3 old ones since a new Clinique order arrived a few days ago.

That’s quite a specialized plea!

Definitely something to keep in mind as we all clean out our old makeup. :-)

I shared this on FB as well. A couple of us from the gym already sent an envelope off.

Elizabeth, I don't see why they wouldn't work, just a shorter handle.

Great idea Debi, thanks for mentioning it. I won't be at the beach this year, but looked online and see there's a similar program here in Southern Ontario - so I know where to send mine to.

As a reminder - you should always replace your mascara within 2-3 months of opening. I found that out the hard way. ;)
