R.A.K. update

Post by 4nancie »

*********
Janice passed away yesterday.
She was a very strong :weights: woman and will be missed by many.
Thanks for your kind words and continued prayers for her family.

*********

A friend of mine has decided to stop her fight with cancer. Chemo hasn't helped this time around so she stopped doing chemo a few weeks ago, she is on a feeding tube through her port and is still throwing up several times a day. Her doctor said there is no hope. She is going to stop the feeding tube this coming Sunday. Once this happens she will be on Hospice she was told she would have one week to three to live.
I was wondering if you would send her a card and or pray for her while she is going through this. I am going back to Seattle to see her on Monday and say good bye.
I will put her address in the address list or you can pm me.
Thanks in advance

Oh Nancie, this is so very sad. I'm so sorry. I will absolutely see if I have an appropriate card in my stash or make one today and get it in the mail asap.

She's a very brave woman, Nancie, to take control of her life like that. I hope her family and friends support her. Would that we all will be that brave when the time comes.

I just got back from Washington to visit my friend Janice. They took out the nutrition tube. They were giving her pain pills but she was throwing the up so the hospice nurse said she wasn't getting any relief so they convinced her to go to hospice to put in an IV then they said she wouldn't be going back home. The insurance called a day later and said they wouldn't pay for the IV. Family members will have to appeal that so she can benefit from iv pain killers and keep her comfortable.
