My test - update

So Wednesday is going to be my 3rd Colonoscopy, need to get one every three years. This will be the first time for me without the pills. I have to go the Miralax route. Wish me luck I so much prefer the pills which they won't do down here. I may not have another one after this. I'm so not looking forward to doing this.

It is over. Had another polyp so it will probably be another 5 years. The Miralax wasn't bad, had no problem with that. Now I need to rest.

I didn't know there were pills for it. I had to drink orange stuff - don't remember what it was called. Not the tastiest of concoctions, but it worked REALLY well

I had polyps too and still I could drink the stuff.
For my husband we had to buy the pills at Walgreens.
Just over the counter stuff.

I've had this 2x now, at 50 and 60. Both times a mix of miralax, Gatorade and some kind of stool softener pill...oh joy, oh bliss. 2nd time the prep was a bit different, in the timing of all that "good stuff, which was better. Like Sue said, great results.
I once listened to an older woman, 80 + years, go on and on how she refuses to get a colonoscopy because of the change in prep her doc ordered. She just did not want to go through all that one goes through to prepare. At that age I would just about say the same.

I did the Miramax. Just make sure the Gatorade is cold. It wasn't that bad. I just don't like the going to the hospital part.

Steve just had his 3rd one.
I definitely think the prep part is far worse than the procedure.

When I had my first one, I had some stuff called "go litely", it's a gallon of liquid that you drink a glass every hour.
I was up all night and when
Tom came over to take me to hospital he said I was so grey in color.

Next one was two bottles of the sodium something from the drug store
and it was the best.

Third one was some stuff you drink in 3 doses. I like it the best.

I've had polyps the last 2 times. My Mom had to have some colon removed so I
need to keep up with this.

This will be my 3rd one also. Every 5 years. I doubt that I will go through another one because I'll be 77 then and forget it! Tomorrow I will be on liquid all day and start the meds at 4 pm. I have plenty of 7Up, White Cranberry juice, apple juice and water to wash it down with. I'm just not crazy about every 20 minutes.

Sorry to bring up such a crazy topic but I certainly can't talk about it on FB so I brought to all my friends.
