July 2018

Post by pamcook »

This month I’m offering up a challenge to use either this sketch or layout to inspire your page (or card). Sometimes I need a simple background.

We’re on a road trip so I’ll get something made & posted when we get home.

Great ideas, Pam!!

I just got all the prints from 2018 Re-create.... so lots of fun photos to play with... (not that I was at a loss for photos) and hopefully Chevie will let me work on things this weekend.

That gray speckled background is my garage floor. I wish I could take a photo square on. Too shaky, I guess.

Debbie, your granddaughter is beautiful. Lovely page. And I think that's the cleanest garage floor I've ever seen :D

Your LO tuned out fantastic. With such a lovely subject how could it not? No way I could take a photo of our garage floor...unless I needed a sawdust background, LOL.

If you have Photoshop or Photoshop Elements you could adjust the photo so it's square and crop out the speckled floor. I finally figured out after several layouts that it wasn't background paper  but I thought it was your countertop!

Try breathing out when you take the photo, not holding your breath. And take several photos adjusting the angle of the camera, if you don't already.

I stand mine up against something and then use the crop feature in the resize app.

And if you take photos with your phone as most people do now, my advice is totally useless. But I'm sure as Pam says, there is an app for it!

Here’s my scraplift of the sample page. I know the colors are strange but it’s too late to get a good shot.
Thanks Debi for the die cuts!

I love this, Pam. The colors are perfect and I love the splatter mixed in with the fireworks stamps.

Debbie - It takes me a while to catch up LOL. I thought this was a "digi" page and you took a picture of your garage floor to use as a background!! Duh!! Great layout your granddaughter is very pretty and I have to add, you've got a pretty nice garage floor too.

Pam - I love you layout and I don't think the colors are at all strange. They work great!
