August 2018 Card Challenge - A Line, A Focal Point, A Word

Happy August 1!!! It’s hot, it’s smokey (sadly) so it’s a good time to stay in the coolth and make this month’s card challenge. It’s an easy one but one that has many possibilities.

This is a great way to use up boarder stamps, washi tape, fibers, etc. Make that boarder work as a dividing line to showcase stamps and sentiments. That line can be anywhere on your card, vertically, horizontally or diagonally...it all works for this sketch.

I’ve only had time to make one but I’ll be with my craft group today (showing them how to make wreath-building cards) and I plan on making at least one more sample for this challenge while I’m there.

This card was made entirely from the Altenew stamp set Henna. Inks are Catherine Pooler which I stamped images with and then “watercolored” with.

Keep in mind I made this late last night, LOL.

Cool idea.... still playing catchup on previous challenges/ideas.... but this one is easy peasy.... yay!!

Fabulous card, Farley! Hmm... Iv'e been sorting through my stamp binders trying to make sense of some chaos, and I seem to recall a CS stamp set that might work well for this. Don't ask me which one... my brain doesn't retain most of that any longer. I know it had simple daisy like flowers and the color scheme was blue and white. Dang.... now I need to know!

A-ha! Expressions from 2010. there were several border stamps in that kit. And a few others if I recall, like Raku and Destinations.

Thank you everyone! It is a fun and easy sketch. Yesterday after teaching craft group friends on wreath building, I had a few minutes to make one more card for this sketch.

The background is the Catherine Pooler Canvas Grunge background stamp. This was a quickly made card just to have another version of this sketch.

Another Christmas card using a line of washi tape. It's hard to tell, but the Santa in the middle is popped up and all the stamped Santas sparkle with Wink of Stella.
