Don’t Buy Stencils From Amazon!

Post by paddlegal »

I was giddy awaiting this stencil to arrive today with plans for an alcohol ink session with it. It arrived FOLDED IN HALF inside a padded envelope that must have been a tiny bit too short for it to fit. Regardless it never would have arrived flat. I am so disappointed but will order it again but through Scrapbook.com who know how to send stencils. I thought I’d save a buck plus shipping...HA! It’s a lovely feather stencil that flows into birds flying.

I immediately “chatted” with Amazon and will get a refund. But...grrrrrr.

Take a look!

Wow. Someone was a total idiot when packaging that to mail!

Sometimes it is just better to pay the extra money and shop from a site that specializes in what you are looking for.

That was just plain laziness on whomever packed that.

Definitely someone didn't care. Great stencil, though!

I have a suggestion that might work - hot water. Soak it for a while and then put some heavy books on top of it. What have you got to lose?

I was thinking the same but wasn’t sure how. Thanks for the idea. I’ll give it a try. Meanwhile it’s in the cart again but at SSS...along with a few other things. I rarely buy crafty things at Amazon but loving their service I figured I’d have it quick and earn my points. Lesson learned.

I think the person who packed it had no idea! What someone that doesn't stamp, scrap, or create.
Glad Amazon was good about getting you a refund.
Can you Iron it flat?
:creating:
ps I would love to see what you do with it!

most craft items aren't handled by Amazon warehouse, they come
from individual small vendors who use Amazon as an ordering hub
that they pay a fee for

It came from the Las Vegas Amazon fulfillment center...so yes, probably packed by someone who had no clue what it was.

I will try a few ideas for flattening this weekend. This is not the end of the world...but yesterday it was disappointing. I haven’t pulled the trigger yet on a new one on SSS.

Not to long ago, a company I order from a lot had a really good sale on the Memento Dew Drop Inks. I ordered the pack of 12 for a really good price. When I finally got the package, the only thing I got was the cardboard backing for the inks. If you've seen these, the inks come in this kind of blister pack (I don't know how else to describe it) and the cardboard slides in behind the inks and holds them together as a package. I wish I could have seen the face of the person I got to try and describe the problem. She said the item was scanned, I told, yes it was scanned. There is a scan code on the back of the cardboard and this is all I got, a piece of cardboard, NO INK PADS attached. They did make good on it, but I had to think - who scanned the darn thing and thought the piece of cardboard was sufficient to fulfill the order?????????

Yes it’s better but iffy. There’s one crimp in it that isn’t budging. I haven’t tried using it yet though. It would have been a good idea if I had actually checked on the size of this stencil. It’s huge as are all the others of that brand.
