Boss’ Birthday Card

Or how I spent my Sunday...

Charley and staff mates are giving their boss a birthday gift of chocolates and wine and of course he asked if I would make her a card. Finding out she loves cats this is what came about. The cats are from “Lettering Delights”, an SVG site. Darling bundles of fun graphics and SVGs. The set is called “Happy Mew Year” so it was perfect with the party items and wine bottle and glasses...I know, they are champagne glasses but it works.

I’ve never met the boss but I think she’ll like it.

I LOVE this card. Love the cats, love the personalization, love that you themed it to go with the gift.
I would hate to part with that card, but she's gonna love it.

Just checked out the Lettering Delights site.... oh my goodness... super cute stuff... but these really caught my eye!! they're in a collection called Christmas Calories

I just figured out where the designs on some of my metal dies have come from.... the fishy ones... and the Dia de Los Muertos ones are from these designs.... of course I HAD to buy the Dia de Los Muertos ones so now I can cut larger ones and decorate our office as well as use the little ones on our contest pumpkin...

How did you do all the details on the faces and bodies?

Marianne, to save time yesterday I merely used a complete cat, resized it, printed it out and then put it in the cutter...and all of the cats cut perfectly! I was worried about the skinny legs but they held up. I couldn’t change the colors so thankfully LD colors their files rather well. But if you look closely at Debi’s, I think she cut each element out and then layered them. I would have loved to do that with the cats but I’d still be working on the cards right now.

And there are some very cute dog files there...just no Airedales.

I just bought some sets to cut... and then... what the heck... there's a fall bundle of a ton of stuff for free with a $15 purchase... I'm set for quite a while... and it included some pretty Thanksgiving cut files so I'll definitely be putting those to use soon!!

Those gingerbread men were the sample photo from that webpage.... I'll be making some, though... and putting them on some cards to sell at a local craft fair in November... I've been a card-making fool for the past couple weeks... I'll take photos and show you all soon!

Glad you explained so I don’t feel like a slacker for not cutting out individual parts of those cats.
