Oh, Pam, I'm sorry Joel is in so much pain. Praying that he was able to get some sleep last night and that today is a better day for both of you. Hugs.

I feel so bad for you both, it's not easy seeing
our loved ones in pain and not being able to do anything
to relieve that pain.
Maybe they should set him up with IV dilaudid, he might be
able to get some sleep then, PO takes too long to kick in

Today was better. He napped for about an hour and we even went for about a half-mile walk. He’s been asleep for about 20 minutes but keeps waking up every 3 or 4 minutes. Better than last night though!

How is Joel doing?

He’s having more hours without extreme pain and his attitude is still really good. Yesterday, he couldn’t stay awake, briefly spiked a fever, and then when it broke (and just before I was going to break the news we had to go to Urgent Care), he felt much better. So odd. Incisions are healing well and he’s being good about walking around the house and doing his PT. I think I’m going to take him outside at lunch time. Our weather looks crazy later this week so better to get some vitamin D when we can.
When he can sleep at night, I’ll feel like we’ve turned the corner.

I'm so glad that things are going along as well as they are. Hope you got him outside. Today was a beautiful day up here. I even washed windows on the outside!
