Winter weather

Post by pamcook »

Sigh
I’m in the zone expecting an 8-10” snowfall and possible ice on top of that. Waterline broken, husband out of commission for months, and now, Snowmageddon.

I turned on the water long enough for us to get showers, filled 5 gallon buckets with water so we can flush the toilet, washed and put away 3 loads of laundry, went to the farmer’s market, pharmacy, and package shipping store, covered our water meter, and stacked wood on the covered back porch in case we lose power. Speaking of losing power, I checked, I have photos printed and plenty of adhesive. And, thank you Jesus since I work from home, I don’t have to worry about driving in it.

Is anyone else working on a December journal of any type? I’m putting some of my December 2017 photos into one. It’s a great distraction.

What else is everyone up to this weekend?

Oh my, Pam.
I got tired just reading everything you needed to do. :(
Have you found where the leak is yet?
If not, maybe one of those companies that sends a
camera through the line would be able to find it

I hope Joel is starting to feel better.

There’s a company that uses ultrasound - minimum $850 and then $150 an hour. Way out of our price range! We had hoped the ground would dry out enough so the leak would be obvious. All this snow will keep the ground saturated. We have a friend who might be able to borrow the ultrasound equipment. next weekend. We hope.

Jill - have a great time!

I hope the forecast is wrong (as ours often is) and you don't get all that snow and ice and that you can get that leak fixed soon. You have too much going on right now.

I hope you get a break soon, Pam! That's just too much chaos for you to be dealing with while Joel is healing. :happy94:

Way too much to be done by one person. I hope that your friend can borrow the equipment so you can get that repaired.

We're only getting rain, so the over-saturated soil is creating one heck of a pond. We now live on Lake McLeod. :(

We ended up with about 8” of heavy snow but it’s been raining quite a bit now. If it freezes tonight, the roads will be so dangerous. Our clinic is closed tomorrow but if I have internet, I’ll probably try to work.

I hope we don't get a much wind as they're calling for.

Sorry you got so much snow but sure glad you work from home.

I'm not working on any of the December scrapbooks this year. Ill make regular layouts of the photos.

Well, I hope you all continue to have power and it rains and washes away.

I was surprised to find we had internet again (restored some time between 5&7 AM). Looked out the window and it was snowing like crazy again. We got about 3 more inches before it stopped. That makes a total of 17”. Thank goodness the rain melted some of it last night.

I'm flabbergasted that the Southern states are having
more snow that we are in New York. I guess we will be getting ours
soon enough

Snowpocalypse hit here last night around 9:30. No freeze, but Lake Phillips on McLeod Rd. has opened for water sports. Since neither of our vehicles are amphibious, we're driving across the yard to get out. Soon as I feel a bit better, I'll take photos of the flooding.

Hope things are looking up for everyone north of here. Chris can't get his car out of the parking lot at work, so a friend loaned him a Jeep. Winston-Salem got 17+". :-o

From our front porch (autocorrect wants me to say “Porsche” and that just hurts my feelings when so delete it) early Sunday morning. We got several more inches after.
