Gloom, despair, and agony on me... etc... if it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

So... last night while in the muddy back yard with Chevie... the kids across the street made a big noise and she got riled up... sped around me... tripped me with the leash.. and down I went... twisting the bad ankle as I went down... hurt like a son-of-a-gun (other expletives were said) and was hurting all night long.. no swelling... little bruising.. but I was a good girl and Mike drove me up to the ER this morning. It was empty (hooray - guess that was good luck) and my x-rays show nothing was broken.

I was walking with my boot on that trip... and this afternoon, I've walked without the boot and without a cane. So... guess it's getting better quickly. That's good - it needs to be working so I can climb the stairs at Peggy's house tomorrow... and take care of Mike after the surgery... whew!!!

But... what a freakin' scare... and I'm sick of this mud!!

I couldn’t read your post fast enough to make sure you weren’t seriously injured. Thank goodness nothing is broken. Please be careful and take care. :happy94:

Geez, Debi. Thank goodness you're okay! We'd have to have traveling nurses come out to Peggy's! Good thing you know a few ;) . Please take good care and stay safe. Prayers for Mike for his surgery on Thursday and fast recovery for you both! :happy94:

Tonight its not hurting nearly as bad. Walking with the boot and without using the cane. Able to walk in the house without the boot. Yay!!

I'm glad of that but super glad all the hardware that was put in to fix the broken ankle is all fine. My titanium held up fine. LOL

Mike is in recovery. Surgery went well. We should be out of the hospital in about an hour. He'll feel fine til the nerve block wears off. Then he'll have happy pills.

What did they have to do? I’m always intrigued by orthopedic surgery but terrified by it as well!

Had to reposition the part of the calcaneus that fractured and then secure it where it belongs. Only had a quick call from the surgeon and then he was heading to the next patient. Haven't seen mike yet.

You two! Happy to hear you’re getting around decently but please don’t over do it. I know when you get Mike home it’s going to be a bit challenging. Happy also to hear he is doing well.

You two be good please! :happy94:
