Winter 2019

Post by pamcook »

Pat, how are you and Greg holding up with the extreme cold? We’re having colder than normal temps here in N.C. but no sub-zero temps.

I’m so, so thankful every single day to be working from home.

I know in Michigan it's been below zero, but not nearly as bad as Wisconsin and Chicago. Lots of bundling up, thankful for cars that warm up seats and steering wheels remotely and making sure the dog gets his business done quickly.

Stay warm everyone!!!

Why do I always forget you’re in MI? You stay warm, too!

We've been in the mid to upper 20s at night, but the days haven't been bad, 40s mostly. I look at what everyone is going through in the Midwest and Northern States and can't believe those temps.

It was 4 here this morning but went up to 20 later. And there was no wind!!! It's interesting to drive around the area and watch the outside temp change as you move away from the water or near it. At least there was abundant sunshine to give a false sense of warmth.

We've noticed our mileage goes down when the temp falls. It's down to 39.9 mpg!!

Pam...thanks for thinking of me. Our lowest actual temp yesterday was -9 degrees, wind chill, I don't know. Needless to say, it's been cold. Gracie the dog gets her puffer vest and booties, and hurries out with her gimpy legs. Greg goes to work by 6 am, and I have the luxury to stay home. All the snow and drifts in the yard are ice packs. So glad I shoveled some grass for the dog to do her business.
Spring will be here in a few days, so have no fear for us in the midwest.   What a crazy week.

Gwen lives in my hometown, small world for sure. I have a sister still in Dearborn, and one in Ypsilanti. My other sister lives in Chicago suburbs. Really something that they had to set the train rails on fire to keep everything moving. We will remember these polar vortex events that have been happening these past few years.By the way...my oldest son and family live in :censor: cold St. Paul, MN.

Take care everyone. We are at 6 degrees at 9:54 pm. Woo Hoo.

So very sorry for all those in those frigid temps. We have been cool here in MB but lows in the 20's and warming mid day into the 40's with sunshine like Pam P said.

Crazy weather for sure, going to go up to 67 - 70 this weekend.

Cheryl, we’re supposed to get those warmer temps after the weekend. Should have our normal 50’s Saturday & Sunday- great weather to be outside (after today!).

We're having a light snow, it's about 14 outside last time I looked and we had a visitor this morning looking for someone to eat at the bird feeder. Closest I've ever seen one.

Great picture Marianne, they are beautiful creatures. Go after the mice, not the birds.

Oh Marianne, he/she is beautiful! Funny but I’ve never come across a fox in my bird outings. Coyote and bobcats, yes. Fox no. Stunner photo.
