Cosmic Shimmer gilding flakes cards and panels

Everyone should have received their cards by now, so this isn't spoilers. And I've also played a bit more with diecuts from our swaps to make more card fronts. Bear in mind that the metallic shimmery goodness is much better IRL than trying to capture with a photo, but you'll get the idea.

The first pictures are my cards for the Valentine's Day swap, the different ones in a single shot then a closeup of some of the gilding flake backgrounds.

Another background of the original cards, then me using up the two remaining diecut hearts on backgrounds. The red heart one is my valentine for my hubby.

These ones use diecuts I pulled from what we've swapped. No idea who sent what, because I sorted them into my filing system. The butterfly is cut from metallic green paper but it washed out when I took a picture.

One last background, and then the mixed media project I'm fiddling with. I was listening to Travelin' Soldier by the Dixie Chicks while fussing with backgrounds and suddenly remembered a pack of TH photobooth cards that I've never used. So I found two characters that seemed to fit the song, cut them apart and aged them a bit, and went from there. I haven't finished it yet, but will post when I am done.

Gorgeous cards, Monica. On the ones with the butterfly (beautiful die-cut BTW) and sentiment, what makes the border around the edge of the card? So simple, but a lovely touch. And I think it's great that you were inspired by a song for your project. Looking forward to seeing it finished.

Keitha, the border was created by the die I used to cut the adhesive-backed paper. No tricks there, I promise!

Thank you all for the kind words. It's really all the gilding flakes and a few minutes of applying them. Easy-peasy for stunning results. I forgot to mention that the dies are actually laid on the adhesive prior to gilding, so they aren't layered over the flakes, it just looks that way.

I recently saw a video on gilding flakes and of course I has to go buy some. Your cards are beautiful. I made some backgrounds but haven’t turned them into cards yet.
