Plan for October!

Post by pamcook »

I have an idea for a month long challenge. It will be based on the idea of Calvinball but not as intense.
It will require quite a bit of prep work for me so if folks aren’t interested, please say so.

You can scrapbook, art journal, make cards, travelers notebooks, bullet journal, mixed media - whatever your heart desires - or any combination.

I'm intrigued, but am clueless as to what calvinball actually is. I know you have been making a lot of fabulous pages for calvinball, but I never researched it. I would like to know what kind of commitment I'm making because I wouldn't what you to spend a lot of time coordinating things if I can't follow through on my end.

The actual Calvinball has a point system. You earn a point per 12x12 page and 1/2 points for cards and other projects. Then there are points you earn for using certain products through the whole month. Then there temporary points that appear & disappear without warning. It’s all fun and a lot easier to understand than how I’m explaining it. I get frustrated with folks who are less than honest (you’re supposed to only count items created during the month and unless some folks don’t do anything but scrapbook 24/7, I just don’t see how they can rack up to points they post - but I digress. That’s why I stopped posting my points.

There will be no prizes awarded but at the end of the month, it’s fun to see how much you’ve created and how much of your stash you’ve used.

I don’t anticipate daily challenges but who knows what could happen?!

I’m interested but wary of the commitment in September. It’s one of my busiest bird survey months for the Preserve and Bufferlands. If enough sign up I’ll go along with trying to produce some useful cards...perhaps Fall type cards. On the fence but want to join if I can.

The last half of September will be crazy for me, so I'll try to play a bit but no promises. I was thinking it's time for another summer camp come June, if people are interested in that.

Is October better? I’m just randomly choosing a month. I skipped over the summer months in case Monica was planning something.

You're welcome to take over a craft cabin for summer camp too. :D

October works better for me. Caitlin and I are taking a road trip from Aug 28-Sept 17!

October would be better if Sept. this year is like Sept. last year, which is still lingering here on the lake formerly known as our road.
