Feb 2020 Neglected Product Challenge -- Washi Tape
Sorry this is late. Many thanks to Pam for reminding me.
This month's neglected product is washi tape. I usually just use a little here and there on cards and scrapbook pages, but it can also be used in planners, on calendars, when wrapping gifts. I've even seen in used on glass jars, baskets and light switch plates. The possibilities are endless.
So, your challenge this month is to use washi - as much or as little as you want - on some project.
Since I was late and wanted to get this posted today, I didn't get too creative, but here is a scrapbook page I just made. (Isn't he the cutest little thing? So glad he was ok after flying into our window).

Great use of that CS paper!! And the washi. Glad the bird fared well, too.

Wow, glad the bird survived and love the CS paper you used.
Apparently there is a coating you can have put on the windows that is non reflective so the birds don't think it is sky and hit it if this continues to be a problem.

Adorable page and sweet, happy ending story. I am always amazed at how those tiny Titmouse can belt out such loud singing.

I pulled out my bin of washi tape hoping inspiration would strike. Ended up doing weekly pages for February similar to this one -

My evening activity for a couple weeks now has been purging old scrapbooking magazines while I sit in front of the TV. I can't bring myself to get rid of them until I have one last flip through; this page was inspired by a layout from Ronda Palazzari circa 2009 - she was a Memory Makers Master that year. Her original layout was on white cardstock and used strips of ribbon and patterned paper. I pulled my entire collection of washi out to make sure I considered it all; not difficult as I store my washi on loops of ball chain by colour making it easy to pull out, use and put away. A couple are from a washi tape swap a few years ago - was that here? Ronda's layout had rows of different stitches; I opted to go with one stitch in silver for an icy touch. Where she used transparent flower embellishments I used snowflakes, and replaced the button centres with enamel dots. Because of the temporary nature of washi adhesive, I used a bit of glue stick on all the ends of the washi tapes so they won't lift up. Fun challenge - thanks Sue.

I really like it Keitha! The Thickers' font is really nice.
I have two birthday cards to make and then I'm tackling this challenge.

Great shot of the cedar waxwings! And I like how all the pieces of your layout came together. That font is cool too!
We had a rare flock go through here back in the early 80s. I had them in a wild cherry shrub at the house I lived in back then. Was active with some local nature groups back then and it was the buzz for weeks as they migrated through the area.
Just got my unruly collection of washi all in one place so might try a layout like this. Terrific way to use it.

Love the page with all the tapes
Do you know the name of the font?

Jill, the title was done with foam Thickers. I'm afraid they're a few years old (2014/2015); they're called Ivy, the colour is Coral. No idea what the real name of the font would be. There's both upper and lower case letters in the package - except they didn't include any lower case w's or s's, which kind of annoyed me LOL. Every other letter comes in both, go figure.jmp1022 wrote:... Do you know the name of the font?
