July 2020 BUJO - Added Pages

Post by paddlegal »

Planning with Kay is late this month with the July kit so I used an older set of hers I recently purchased “just in case”. This Busy Bee set is adorable even though I thought the colors were a bit off. I did find some compatible Tombow Dual Tip Markers to go with it and today I spent some quality time completing July.

Last month I started a new journal with very heavy pages...I didn’t like it in spite of the fine quality. I ended up going back to a Leuchtturm 1917 Journal that has thinner pages. Yes it can bleed and ghost but I discovered I prefer that vintage look and texture of the slightly off-white color. I am happy with a new book that appeals to me rather than the Archer & Olive journal that I didn’t enjoy using. Crazy maybe but there it is, LOL.

You are amazing. Each month is just so colorful and fun and perfect for you.

I worked on mine yesterday and wondered what your pages would look like. I used stamps and washi tape. Then I lost interest in decorating it and just started adding notes. The amazing thing is that you’ve motivated me to keep using it. It’s almost July and I’m still using it.

Very nice, Farley. Those colours are very summery.

Thank you Pam, Keitha and Debbie! As I go through the month using it I often make additions to it. But as it is now I am quite happy with it.

Pam, I’ve been thinking of using washi tape and more stamps on my August spreads. As much as I love Planning with Kay stickers, she tends to be late in actually shipping the stickers out to members and then it’s a scramble to make a complete month on time. But I'll hang in there due to the benefits and free printables, etc for now. I have a years‘ worth of Catherine Pooler monthly CANVO stamps so I should be able to mix it up more. The “Oh my it’s July” is a CP stamp.

I added 4 pages last night in my new Leuchtturm BUJO. Since I switched to a new book I repeated my “important dates” and added a year’s tracker for exercise. I try to exercise 3 times a week and this big tracker will give me a good visual even though I list my more detailed workouts on the weekly spreads too. I really like the use of the black washi tape so I can use my white gel pen. Using black ink instead would bleed right through so washi is a great alternative. I also added my geeky weather tracker and one big July TO DO list.

These are great additions, Farley. I like the addition of a weather tracker. Curious - for the birds that migrate through, do you do a monthly calendar where you add first sightings for the year so you can easily see those?

Keitha I should be making a calendar of that. I’ve just been making notes of them with a big FOS (first of the season) next to them which is pretty visible in my oversized daily calendar journal as well as in my BUJO.
