How fun to have someone help! My granddaughters have never got the “bug”. And Jak can’t get away from the XBox long enough.

My grands like to help. Two of them made all kinds of envelopes
for their party invitations, They cut, scored and taped with my big tools.
Had a fun time of it.

Re: Scraplift Challenge Round 20 - Creating!
I love hearing about kids participating in art...even if they don’t get their hands in/on it, being exposed is important.
I’ve always felt passionate about kids learning & participating in art. Creativity, in my opinion, builds skills that help them with academics. For instance, one son didn’t give a rat’s a$$ about reading or math. Eventually, he became interested in role playing. As I observed he & his friends playing, I realized they were using a lot of math (rolling multi-sided die) and reading volumes of playbooks/manuals. I cannot tell you how much I spent on those items alone! Now that they are grown men, they’ve taken that hobby to a whole new level and formed a non-profit where people pay them to coordinate live action roll playing weekend events. The best part? My boys spend time together as adults, and I get to have “Camp Grammy”! My point is, teaching kids art/creative skills may be perceived as unnecessary to some, but it really is more than just playing. Just like all of us, at this stage of life, for me it’s about community and sisterhood just as much as creating & documenting our lives.
And now, back to your regularly scheduled broadcast...

And let's not forget the skill sets obtained from music classes! Larger vocabulary, better reading and math skills, critical thinking skills, better attendance, confidence, improved listening skills (unless your name is Chris!), lower drop-out rates - the list goes on and on. Arts programs in our schools - art, music, drama - MUST continue to receive funding and be taught at all educational levels, especially K-12. The earlier children are exposed to arts the better their life skills are.
End of soap box rant.
