a loss
a loss
I posted this on FB, but thought I'd share here with my PAO family too. Cyber-family is just as important to me as those I see every day, and some days more so. Love to you all! If anyone wishes to send a card to my MIL message me and I'll pass it on.
....
My father-in-law passed away this morning. He had strengths and weaknesses, just like us all, but he also had faith in the Lord and a love of family.
While the exact cause of death will likely be something prosaic like complications due to pneumonia, the truth is that, like my dad, he had Parkinson’s. It’s a neurological disorder that changes a person from who they are to a stranger, while also robbing them of fine motor skills, logical thought, and so many other things. I’ve watched two great men be felled by this now, and the world is a slightly darker place for their loss.
Sitting here thinking about it, I realized that all the politics, the pandemic, the petty crap that seems to consume our lives… in the end, none of that matters. What does matter is family. Friends. Loved ones of whatever sort, be they human or animal. So take a day to set aside the trappings of this world. Spend time with those you love. Call your mom, like I did. Reach out to a friend who needs to hear your voice. Don’t let arguments, disagreements, or stubborn pride keep you from those who care.
God bless.

Re: a loss
We watched our neighbor suffer with Parkinson’s along with their adult son. It’s a horrible thing and robbed Ronnie from his dignity. Their son Mike was diagnosed a couple of years before Ronnie died. The toll it’s taken on Mike’s mom is indescribable. So, all that to say, I have a small bit of an idea of what your family has been through.
Your in my prayers.
Your in my prayers.

So very sorry! Many prayers for the family.
One of my younger brothers is fighting that disease. So difficult.
