2020 Secret Sister swap - almost Christmas!

Post by nchoney »

This is the simplified swap for 2020!! We all need some extra Christmas cheer... so this year the swap will be one handmade item and one paper-crafting supply so your Secret Sis can play with something new. That could be a new die and small set of specialty paper.... OR.... some mixed media something and a stencil.... OR.... a paint supply of some kind...

So... we'll sign up here... no need to send a private message... but... just add to your signup post some things that you've wanted to try out... or that you love and can't get enough of... to give your Secret Sis some ideas. That might also spark some ideas for the rest of us, too... so you can always edit your message if the lightbulb goes off and you think "Oh yeah... I'd LOVE to try that!"

Let's try not to send 12x12 paper since that forces us to use one of the larger priority boxes and too much postage... AND... I have a feeling we all have plenty of 12x12 paper. :-)

We should be able to mail our packages by December 1st ... and then we can pick a date to open them. No opening ahead of time! :-)

Here's the list so far:

1 - Debi
2 - Farley
3 - Pam C
4 - Keitha

On the fence but leaning towards yes Debi. Loved the ornament swap last year but this year I’m personally wanting commitments to be on the low side. So a single project as opposed to making multiples of something is appealing and enjoyable.

Oh yes! What Farley said. Even though I bought supplies for an ornament swap (any idea where it’s all stashed though? Yeah, me neither.)

How about if we keep it simple? One handmade item and one technique supply. Could be an ornament or anything. And then something like a stenceil and new paste or mousse to use with it? Like a mini technique kit?

Oooh - I think even I could handle that this year. Count me in for simple! That is to say, if you don't think my package needing to cross the border will be a problem...

I'd say it's worth the hassles.

Yes, Debi - count me in.

Since my answer above was semi noncommittal and vague, yes, count me in.

I could probably handle something easy like this. Although I won’t be able to mail by Dec 1 as I will be in WY until the 5th.

That should work. I think priority mail will still work.

The names are swapped and I sent messages to each of you.

We need to remember to post a message here to give some clues about something we'd like to try.

I'm thinking those nuvo shimmer powders would be fun to try. Or I'm game to try some messy mixed media things. I keep watching Missy Whidden videos but then I don't buy any of those shimmers powders that she uses.

I’m really trying to think! Apparently I’m in a crafting rut? Will post in the next couple of days.

Okay - I’m intrigued by Finnabair’s Sparkle acrylic paints - no particular colors. I’m sure I would use some blending tools either the ones with the oval pads and long handles, or the brushes with a metal handle that retracts the bristles, or maybe you have some you really love and would recommend. Paper Glazes and Shimmerz interest me as well. I’m easy.
