Have I been under a rock or is it really that new? Do I need to add it to my list of new items to try?
I have a new machine and maybe I do need this mat before I ruin my cutting plates?

Edited to add this video on 11/13

I wonder why it took them so long to realize this would work in a machine?

I think there have been people cutting down other mats for a while now... good way for Scrapbook.com sit back and let others do the beta testing. This sounds good, though.... I'm going to go ahead and order one. :-)

I ordered two. Wonder if I can use two at the same time?

Watch your shipping amount if you place a Scrapbook.com order.... they defaulted to "postal shipping" but I clicked on "change shipping" and chose "standard shipping" which still arrives next week and was half the cost. Interesting...

even more interesting.... I changed it to the 12.99 shipping and then went to pay for my order and it switched back to the $25+ shipping and I'm not able to change it...

So... nope... I don't need that mat that badly... and didn't need any of the other things I had in my cart...

I have a version of that type of mat I got for the Cuttlebug like 6 years ago or so, but I don't use it with the Bigshot since I bought the Sizzix metal plate that Tim raved about and it works well for me with the thin dies. Might have to dig it out again when I do some cutting with Bigz dies for Christmas cards!

I wonder if it would limit the warping of the plates

You use it instead of the bottom plate. Self-healing but they say to rotate it. I'll be interested in seeing reviews. I don't use mine that often to be able to give a valid review. I'm very hopeful that it's a wonderful tool.

you could also go to Joann's and buy mats on sale or with a coupon.

I can buy a large mat on Amazon and cut it down... just going to check the thickness so I don't foul things up. And... I can cut a larger one for my Gemini, too. :-)

If I feel inclined to mess with cutting one.

I use a Gemini Jr and the only fault I have with it is how quickly the magnetic shim warps and becomes useless for holding down dies. Wish they made an alternative shim. After looking at this on Scrapbook.com I don't think this would be of any use on my machine. It's sandwiches are a bit different in thickness from a Big Shot's. Good idea though.
