Share your tree & decorations 2020

Post by pamcook »

I’ve never put my tree up this early but I had help and the weather was nice enough to climb up in the attic.

Here’s our tree this year.

Wish I were in the holiday spirit. Maybe by next weekend I'll be ready to tackle some decorating.

I know I’m not the only one who has some decorations up!

Joel, Chris, and Mandee helped me decorate the front porch. Then then neighbors put out more decorations. So off we went to buy more lights and I’m trying very hard to keep them in check!

Here’s the latest version.

It all looks great! We're actually doing the tree tonight.... had to run to Walmart for ornament hooks because I somehow managed to misplace the baggie of them from last year. :tomato:

Pam, your home looks very festive with all the lights. It's a slippery slope keeping up with the neighbours!
Pat, your tree and mantle are lovely. I like how you've put the nativity set in front of the tree. Not for the first time do I wish I had a mantle; nothing else is quite the same.

Pat - how lovely! I also love the nativity set under the tree. Once your quarantines are over, you can all enjoy it together.

Monica - I found so many of those hooks last year. I had them stashed everywhere. Now they're all tangled together in one bag.

Keitha - this is the first year Joel even noticed what the neighbor has done! We only have the two houses within our view so, thankfully, he has little to encourage that part of his (previously hidden) competitiveness!

I made a mesh wreath for the 1st time. Hard on hands twisting pipe cleaners...
I think this is a one and done. It needs a bow!

As for my little OLD nativity set (30+ years maybe) kind of like a Precious Moments figurine set, we've always placed it front and center under the tree. Baby Jesus gets placed there on Christmas day.

I LOVE the outdoor lights Pam. The guys in my house do not care to put lights up. Sometimes we do a bare minimum, most times I stick one of those outdoor light up trees near the front entrance. I do have a fake  Ikea potted shrub by my front door that is lighted year round.

Pam your tree is lovely and wow to your outside lights. Love them and love your competitive enthusiasm too. Have your neighbors upped the ante again?

Pat stunning tree and your wreath is fantastic. Your nativity tradition is sweet too.

Monday Charley and I pulled out the fake tree (Bob was so allergic to the fresh pines in the house) and yesterday we finished decorating it with the help of Leigh Ann. Charley also went out for me to get a fresh wreath for the door. That little owl - Northern Saw-Whet - was a gift from my neighbor and it’s become the official tree topper.
