mixed media journal

Post by Keitha »

I've been working on a mixed media journal class for the past few days. My base pages, mostly hot press w/c paper with a couple made from kraft, have the addition of gelli prints, tea bags, paint, vintage (book, music, ledger, map) papers, coffee stains, sewing and stenciling. I've kept them neutral as the idea is to sketch, paint and collage on top of them. So far it's been good, messy fun.

That's great, Keitha! I love how your pages have come out. What fun it'll be to work on them later once the initial part is done.

They’re lovely! I always love lots of mixed media in journals. Even better when it’s messy fun!

Nice! Neither mixed media nor journals are things I've made much attempt at, so I'm always inspired by what I see others make. I really love what you've done so far.

What an interesting mix of background papers, Keitha. How big are your pages?
