6x6 Paper Pad Class - Week 1 Layout Share
Re: 6x6 Paper Pad Class - Week 1 Layout Share
Yeah. I dunno. Looks a bit Easter-y. Was loving it until I added the yellow. But it’s done.

Love the page Pam

These are fun layouts with all the circles, lots of energy.
Jill, I like the way you added a few hearts in with the circles!

I'm still not a big fan of this. I do like the LO a little better since I edged the background with blue ink. Left off the journaling because I had to crop the darned photo so close to get it to a 4x4. This is probably going to be the last time I use the recommended photo size, so almost all of my LOs will be "adapted." This of course is my big baby. He likes to put his head in my lap while I'm reading.

Everyone is doing such a great job with the sketch! I feel a little bit embarrassed about going off the reservation with mine.
Not.
Not.

Thanks Friends!
Pam, I’m impressed with what you did with the squares! I was trying to imagine it. LOVE how it turned out!
Leave it to you and me to go a bit rogue! I fully intended to try to stay very close to the sketch. Maybe next week?

Great Pages
Re: 6x6 Paper Pad Class - Week 1 Layout Share
And we both used Vicki Boutin paper! Great minds...
Re: 6x6 Paper Pad Class - Week 1 Layout Share
Yes! At the rate I buy them, I'll have some to use for quite a while. I need to remember that I can cut them down for layering (like you did).

Re: 6x6 Paper Pad Class - Week 1 Layout Share
I didn't! That's the beauty of it. This was one of the pages from the 6x8 pad, so I only lost 2 inches, which is now in my scrap pile because I can use it with a die. That paper is too good to toss!
Re: 6x6 Paper Pad Class - Week 1 Layout Share
Pam and Pam - I love both of these layouts! The squares totally work, and I really love the idea of substituting other die cuts or other types of shapes too. In the gallery on FB I saw flowers, spirals, and gears and thought they were all really nicely done. Having used this sketch twice now, I figured I was probably done with it, but now I'm thinking I may want to keep it around and use it with snowflakes, or flowers, or other things that I have dies/punches for. My problem is that I can't really visualize that stuff in my own mind. I have to see a real example before it makes sense.

Julie (thank you BTW), I would look at the sketch and decide if I want to use all snowflakes. If so, how many sizes do I want to use? How many colors do I want to use? Along the top row of the sketch, assign a number to each color circle and then assign those numbers to the snowflakes -then do the same with the other sides. Maybe you want to only use a few snowflakes - substitute one or two colors with your snowflakes. Don't glue anything down until you've had time to walk away from it - or even take a photo (that works best for me). Or even layer snowflakes over some of the circles.
I hope some of that was helpful?

Re: 6x6 Paper Pad Class - Week 1 Layout Share
Great ideas, Julie and Pam. I love Pam's LO and will more than likely try this again with a different shape and fewer of them. To me the sketch just seems crowded and using the shapes with a lot of the background showing takes care of that issue.
Re: 6x6 Paper Pad Class - Week 1 Layout Share
Right Pam - I totally agree. For the Snowflakes, maybe that would just be my largest size, and fill in with regular circles for other sizes. The layout that used gears was super cool, but I think I like the look of the ones with just a few die cuts/punches floating among the other standard shapes.
