Love it! Yep, I looked at the gallery a bit yesterday and I agree that the 3x3 is soooo much better. Not that I didn't like any of the 2x2 ones, but to me scrapbooking is all about featuring the photos, and if there's nothing big enough to focus on, what's the point? I don't mind a few tiny photos here and there, but only if there's at least one larger one that has focus.

I'm going to re-do my layout for this week, and then I'll post both versions. My first one is not something I'm happy with.

Too cute!!! I like the layout... and may do 3x3 photos, too.... but that face is adorable!!! Often wish I had puppy photos of Chevie.

So here are both my attempts. The first one never got a title or embellishments because I didn't like it. The second on is a 3x3 version, and with way different colors. One of the things I realized I didn't like about the original is that the patterned papers were just lost on top of each other, so I chose combinations with higher contrast. I'm not in love with the re-make either, but it's the one that's going in the book. Maybe it's the subject matter that just makes me crabby. :angry42:

The first one only looks unfinished to me. A couple of layers of colorful paper could make it look very nice. Still, I’m drawn to the larger photos.
Hoping the story will be one that makes you laugh some day. Hopefully!

I love the 3x3, Julie! I think it makes the composition shine and you get a better idea of the damage.

Poor trumpet. You could always do what I'm thinking about doing with an old cornet that has frozen valves - wire it as a lamp.

Well, the first trumpet she broke was a clean break at the neck - that one would make an awesome lamp. I love that idea. But this one actually went to a repair shop and got mended. She only had one season left, and had no interest in continuing in college, so getting something new wasn't a wise investment. And Jake plays trombone, so he wouldn't be using it either. So it limped along this year with its repairs and now it can be laid to rest (or used for ornamental purposes).

The music store here had a tuba run over and flattened! Thank goodness it was insured. They laughed and hung it on the wall as a piece of art.

Love it! This sketch is so much better if your embellishments are on point. You've made the 2x2 format work so well - nice job!
