Layout ideas for the Biltmore

Post by Laurie »

Steve and I went to the Biltmore this summer. I’ve got our pictures just stuck on layout ideas. Suggestions welcome.

Laurie, we were there the day after Christmas (so beautiful). My pages will most likely be Christmas themed so I'm no help, but I can't wait to see what you do with yours.

Great minds! Cara and I are taking the kids over on Tuesday. I haven’t done Biltmore pages in probably 10 years.

I’ll give it some more thought Laurie…

I thought that there were more pages
celebrating the Biltmore estate in our pages
but the only ones I found were from an album
by Maryanne, and that was a one photo per
page special album that she had done.
There are some nice examples on pinterest if
you search for Biltmore estate scrapbooking

I am just starting to scrap my granddaughters visit there this past June. I’ll post them as I do them. I probably have 100 photos but not all will get scrapped. I’m finishing up the BRP right now. I think I did 20 different layout of waterfalls.

I don't have specific ideas for the Biltmore as I've never been there, but when scrapping related pages, i.e. a series of photos all from one place, I like to use related supplies so the pages kind of go together. The most obvious example of this is to use all one paper collection - but I can tell you from experience that can get boring really quickly if you've got lots of photos. I prefer to repeat a few elements on every page: in my Route 66 album I'm using all white cardstock backgrounds, and putting flair and touches of gold on every page, and doing all the journaling in the same computer font. In my Alaska album I'm using silver accents and wood veneers on every page, and handwriting all my journaling (a choice I actually regret, but it is what it is). These parameters help me use up certain supplies, narrow down my options, but still leave the paper field wide open. They might not be obvious to anyone viewing the pages, but to me, it gives each project a subtly different look.

Here is the first of MANY. I thought I would also scrap receipts for the future to see the past. It’s amazing to see what things cost then and now.

Beautiful Laurie!

True to form, I stoped taking photos less than half way through the tour but still have many photos to scrapbook. Even though I’ve done the Christmas tour, it felt like I had never see it all.

I know Pam, Steve loved staying at the farm house hotel. We toured and the farm equipment and dairy area.

Keitha, it is. We took the behind the scenes tour. I’m not sure we saw everything. I would like to go again
