2 Vicki B inspired pages

Post by pamcook »

I couldn’t focus last evening so I started watching a VB Live session. She was about an hour into it before I started watching. I was able to make these two pages - not too far from what she was doing and I’m really happy with them. I completed the page with Cara & Mandee before I realized I had the one of Cara and Chris taken at the same time. Otherwise, I might have put both on one page.

She said her next collection will be out fairly soon and she’s submitted her mixed media pages. Time for me to pare down my stash of Let’s Wander to make room for new.

She was on a roll last night but yes, I usually have to watch a replay so I can fast-forward.

I'm always amazed at how you can rock colors that I shy away from and make such wonderful pages. Love them, Pam!

Thanks All!
I wish I could share some tips on color choices. I think that I tend to work with colors in the photos but that’s sometimes not true at all. I chose the mixed media background for the layout with Cara & Mandee because it was the most similar to what VB was using. The paper strips were scraps from Color Story and I just used what looked pleasing to my eye. I did purposely use the orange for the hearts because of Cara’s jacket. And I really like orange with about every shade of blue. When I found the other photo, I tried to go a different direction but again, I wanted to use one of the mixed media backgrounds and this one seemed to work best without trying to be the focal point of the page. It has some lime green in it but I mostly ignored that. Again, I pulled some orange accents because of her jacket.
Maybe some of that was helpful?
