Project kits March & April 2022
Project kits March & April 2022
I’ve done quite a bit of rummaging through my stash over the past month. As always, I run across items and think “I really want to use that!” and then promptly forget about it again.
This has led me to come up with a challenge for myself and I really hope you join in.
By 3/4, I will choose 3 items to create 3 different project kits. By 4/30, I will have used those kits to complete 3 projects. The 3 items could be paper, an embellishment pack, a sticker sheet, a stamp set, an embossing folder, a sketch, a photo, a scrap of fabric - whatever. The projects can be scrapbook pages, cards, tags, memory designs cards, journal pages, agenda pages, paintings - whatever.
Now my goal is to get up out of this recliner and go choose my 3 items!

Pam, how did you know I’m sitting in my recliner. My brain says “let’s do this” and my body is saying “maybe tomorrow”.

Laurie! What a great kit! Was there one product that was your jumping off point?
I pulled out my basket of embellishments and purged about 25%. Found a package I really like and is one that I look at and say “I need to use this”. Went to my word Thickers/sticker sheet stash and purged about 25% of those. Then my phone rang…
Heading back to my stash now.

Pam, I actually started with pictures and then started pulling colors from the pictures.

Laurie, that’s my usual process. Looking forward to seeing the layout.
Here are my 3. Disney stamps, a pack of Fancy Pants embellishments, and a sheet of chipboard from Altenew. I chose the papers to go with the FP embellishments but that’s as far as I got last night. Plan to get at least one kit pulled together today.

Here’s the page I did using the Altenew chipboard pieces. It feels too busy but it’s done and yes - 2005.

Love it and they sure look young. They make a wonderful couple.
Re: Project kits March & April 2022
I used everything from my homemade kit except my punch and the washi tape.

Re: Project kits March & April 2022
As I'm headed back to work next week I'm not embarking on any new challenges, although this is similar to what I often do when starting a larger project. Typically I pick a product type from my stash that I want to focus on using up, and commit to using it on every page I do. For now, I'm just focusing on getting a previously-started project closer to the finish line.
Great page, Pam. Were you tempted to title it So Young?
Laurie, your colours are perfect for those photos. As Pam said, very high energy!

Keitha - that would have made a great title. TBH, I look through my stash of titles hoping and praying I have anything that will work. If not, that’s when I try to come up with anything that will work.
I took a class with Shannon Allor called Lucky Seven. She challenges us to choose 7 products that we wanted to focus on and try to use them on every page. Sometimes it worked and sometimes not. Last night I was thinking it would be a great idea to pull 7 items to keep on my desk - and then I fell asleep and didn’t think more about it until just now. This is me going to find those 7 products…
