Oh Debi...

Post by Keitha »

When I tried to log in this morning I got a big red screen saying Dangerous telling me the site wasn't safe to visit. This was through the Chrome browser, which I use all the time and wasn't an issue yesterday when I logged in. Here's a screenshot, in case it's cause for concern:

yep.. I just got that too... seems there's some kind of reporting in Firefox... that's not something I can control, though.. so hopefully everyone is bypassing the warnings :)

At least I'm not getting an error message when I try to log into the initial main webpage... that's a plus... the Wordpress deal was kaflooey for a few months so maybe they're working on things at their end where our site is hosted.

I didn't get the message through the Microsoft Edge browser, which is how I left my initial post. I'm just bypassing the warnings in Chrome, as that's the browser I use.

it gives you the option to proceed to the "unsafe site" so you can do that and then the warning goes away. Hopefully they'll get that sorted out this evening. Or they'll be getting another call from me tomorrow :)

Yes, I had the warning yesterday and this morning. Today I ignored it.

I couldn't get past it on my phone - or figure out how to bypass it. So I just fumed about it for almost 24 hours. Have been doing some work on our desktop computer and all seems well from here. I might throw my phone if I get that obnoxious red warning again.

Thanks Monica and Debi for all your work. You both deserve a whole bunch of chocolate as a reward.

I hope it's working for everyone now. I spent too much time chatting and on the phone with their tech su. Got mixed info from all three people. But it looks ok now and I can get to the main page and add posts there. Yay!!

Thank you for being so vigilant, Debi, and for keeping us updated.

I didn’t realize how “attached” I am, until I couldn’t check on everyone. :happy94:

And the second person I chatted with set up an appointment for a tech to call me at 3pm Eastern time in the US. The guy called me at 7 tonight on the dot. I'll be calling him back tomorrow.

Thanks, Monica, for trying to figure things out last night. This one needed our host company to run some scans behind the scenes and tell me about some infected files I needed to delete. Oddly those files have a 2019 date on them so I think they were doing some new work on the back end of the site and triggered something. I'll be getting more answers tomorrow.

I got the same message last night and this morning,
but I've been having problems with Chrome on other
sites also, so Chrome may be a part of the problem

All I did was have Emily check my PC when it came up and then pass along what she told me to Pam! ;) A tech I'm decidedly not. And thanks for all your work in resolving it with our host company!!
