Wkend challenge ENDS 1/11 -Stamp Masking-winner!

Post by ChristyB »

Got a new weekend challenge coming up.
All you need is paper, stamps (variety both focal and backgrounds) & ink

It'll be fairly easy as I am hoping the maintenance won't disrupt things but in case it does the technique is pretty straightforward so you shouldn't have any trouble.

I'll post tomorrow morning sometime
Keep your eyes open
I hope to see a lot of you playing :D

Okay Here is the Weekend Challenge for 1/9 to 1/11

A pretty basic stamping technique
Masking your stamps
many of you already know how to do this and then there are some of you just entering the fun and exciting world of stamping (I amuse myself)

all you need is
inks,
stamps-both focal & background,
thin paper-like copy paper, scrap paper, post its etc THIN is the operative word
Cardstock

you will be making masks with your stamps to create a layering effect

Steps
first stamp your focal image(s) onto your cardstock
immediately stamp onto your thin paper-you don't need to reink your stamp, you just need the general shape of the stamp
cutout the image from the thin paper right along the lines---THIS IS YOUR MASK
place this cut out image over your stamped image on your cardstock and finish your stamping

Challenge ends 1/11 at 7pm EST
Create--cards, tags, ATC, scrapbook layout and SHARE!!!!!
I will enter all participants into a random drawing for a prize.
any questions please ask

I made a mask with this image placed over and rubbed distress inks all over. Keeping mask in place I then stamped with the script background stamp -collections CS
and then stamped over all with the phrase "don't get us started" again retreat 07-CS

Any good tips about getting that mask to stay in place (other than using the sticky part of a post-it note)?
