Christmas 2023 - July Challenge

Post by pbp908 »

Forgive me for this, but I'm giving you a choice of which technique/style you want to make. After making the cameo card I thought it might be too time consuming - especially with holiday, vacations, back to school - so I came up with the second card. #2 will appeal to the scrap paper hoarders (like me) and it was a quick make. The card is on a white base, but it wouldn't scan well w/o a colored sheet behind it.

#1: I always wanted to try this technique, so this was a great time to jump in feet first. I will try it again but will make it easier by using a scenic stamp instead of creating the scene myself. Also I'll use my head for something other than a hair repository and use a die to cut the mask. Doh.

#2: Loved the way this turned out and it was George's favorite. Simple to do using either dies or punches for the squares. After seeing the scan with the red background I think when I make more they'll look more like the scan. ;)

Drat. Loaded them backwards, but I don't think anyone can confuse the 2 images!

They are both great cards. I wouldn't know what to choose.
What size are the squares?

The small squares are 1 1/2", and the large red square is 3 1/8". I left a 1/8" space between each. The card started out as a 5 x 7, but the squares didn't quite work out. It ended up 5 x 6 1/8. Better planning on my part would have helped, but me plan something??? The only reason why I used that size for the small squares is that I had already cut them some time ago for another project. Of course that other project never saw daylight!

Love your cards, Pam, especially the scrappy squares one! I definitely have enough scraps around to do a few!

I'm looking at a scenic stamp that would fit the bill. Great examples and techniques.

I like both of your cards, Pam. I have so many Christmas paper scraps that I will probably do the one with the squares (thanks for the measurements).

They’re both beautiful!

My photo printer has stopped connecting so cards can keep my busy until I throw it through the wall and get a new one or possibly find a resolution.

Pam, have you tried cleaning your print heads,
that sometimes works for me.
