dh BD Card - help!

Post by marshapetty »

I need inspiration for a birthday card for hubby! It's tomorrow, and I have to make it tonight after work! Where did the time go! Any ideas out there? Don't mind CASING - dh would never know! ;)

I'd say go straight for haberdashery as it's so masculine....but check Sharon V's link to Dan's blog for some neat alcohol ink ideas...esp the plaid!

I had the same first thought as Ruth Ann - Haberdashery! Matrix would also be good papers for a masculine card.

Totally Haberdashery. Perfect for men.

Matrix works well, too. I made a series of these without sentiments and in fact finished one up yesterday for my brother's b-day.

I've used Matrix also for
a male card, don't have the image, i'm at work.
Great outdoors would also work, I think
I used that for my son's BD card

SIGH - I'm probably way late to be any help but how about making a shirt card? I know I saw one on Carol Duvall one year and it was adorable! You can make the pattern or use your favorite masculine paper.

What about Bridges? Do you have any of that? I agree that Haberdashery makes for a good first choice. And didn't some of those tags (OR UMs) have some "dad" stuff on there? I don't know if your DH is a dad, but that kind of adds to the masculine thing.

Anyway, if you don't have Haberdashery, I think Bridges would also work well.

Marsha, what did you end up making?

Hey - Thanks everyone for your help! I ended up making a real quickie with a Haberdashery GTG. I had to sneak it in the night before, so didn't have much time. No real creativity there, but it worked. This has been a crazy few weeks recently.

Tried adding it - but my new computer doesn't have a resizer where it used to be! Have to figure another way to resize. Advice?

I resize mine in Paint. I know its not the best way to do it but its the easiest for me. lol I open the pic with paint, the reduce/resize. I put 20 in both fields and tada! Its small enough to post online but large enough no one needs to squint.
