Wknd Challenge -TOTALLY ABSTRACT-Winner & mailing list pg4
We are going abstract this weekend. No art skills required, just have fun.
I was working on these ATCs for a swap last night. It turned out to be relaxing. I pulled out my paints, bunch or ATC blanks and went to town.
There is no wrong for this. If some of you who have kids who want to play along please let them this week. The size limits the amount of time you need to spend on it. In theory this could take as little as 15 minutes of your time. And I know for a lot of you this will be a bit outside the comfort zone. Remember there is NO WRONG!
rules
you are to make either an ATC or a postcard
you may use paints, watercolor pencils/crayons, or markers.
be abstract-doodle away, mix colors, try a new combination
ENDS 7pm EST on 2/8
post to this thread.
everyone who enters will go into a random drawing for a prize from me.
*TWIST THIS WEEK*
at the end of the weekend I will give you a name to send your creation off to. If you play you'll get happy mail.
you can make a postcard and mail for 27 cents. Cut paper to 4x6 or 4x5. Depending on the weight you may need to glue pieces together. on the back address on 1/2 maybe quick note on the other. Inexpensive fun mail

Ooh! Another fun challenge. I actually did something like this the other night by accident. I'll do another. I like the postcard idea! My mom would probably love artwork from the kids.

What a great idea Christy. I hope to play! I have all day on Sunday in my craft room.....
And I do know what time the challenge ends!

Looks very fun, and just the sort of "non-thinking" challenge I need this weekend!

That was fun! Letting them dry - will post tomorrow. Everyone needs to give this one a try - release your inner 2 year old

Here's two atc's I made. I hope they qualify, as I used the abstract concept for the background, rather than the finished project. The pink one uses dubers and then doodling with a metallic teal paint. The bird one uses a variety of points and doodling (faint) in titan buff.

Here are mine - I'm going to layer some stamps or something onto them. You ladies have done some gorgeous pieces!
I used watercolor paper and basically just experimented to see how different inks and paints worked. Love how the AI made almost perfect circles when I dropped them onto the paper.
