a fun technique to try....more samples....
a fun technique to try....more samples....
I was playing in my (s)craproom and this is the result....I stamped the tree image onto watercolor paper with versa mark then dried with heat gun...i think any paper will do....I got out my chalks and started to "paint" the image with various colors using my fingers....colors can be added atop one another...I think the result is really cool and this is an easy one to do....For reference, this is ATC sized.

REALLY pretty, Ruth Ann! Thanks for sharing both the result and how you achieved it!

It doesn't have to be a "picture"...you could do it with any background stamp! and it can be done in one color.
Re: a fun technique to try....
This one is done twice....the background script chalked in the palest lavendar, then overstamped in versamark with flower, dried, and chalked in darker purple and green

Re: a fun technique to try....
Here is an example of how you might make "fake" old documents...post card stamp in versamark, dried, brown chalk...

Re: a fun technique to try....more samples....
It's about time my chalks came out of hiding...I never really knew what to do with them...used them a couple time to lightly tint something, but that's about it....
Re: a fun technique to try....more samples....
I did this for a swap once. Had forgotten about it.
Thanks for the reminder

cool! I will definitely give it a try.
Re: a fun technique to try....more samples....
They are all quite nice-- is this what's coming as a BG?
Re: a fun technique to try....more samples....
Those are all so pretty! It's been AGES since my chalks have been out. The last time I used them was to color in a stamped image. I used a q-tip to help me stay in the lines. I love the soft look of chalk. It's been forever since I've chalked a versa mark stamped image though - thanks for the reminder! I need to do that again.
