Deck of Art - 9 of Hearts - Games - Due 5/6

The Deck of Art challenge is where you use old playing cards as a base for altered art. Once card is chosen per week, with a theme, and results are posted here.

Hope - love the Scrabble card. I've got those Scrabble letter stickers out for mine as well, but don't worry, it will be totally different.

Pam - Bingo, wouldn't have thought of that! Another great card! I can't decide whether to use those little dominoes (probably the same ones you were looking for) or the mini chess figures. Why are playing cards so small???

I hoard my copper embellishments! No such thing as too much copper :)

Here's mine...whenever we get together we like to play Texas Hold Em with chips (no money)...when someone is tired of playing, they will usually go "all in" and hope to lose....the first one to lose all his/her chips is ALWAYS told to "go feed the rabbits" which goes back to our children's great grandmother on dad's side. I used harlequin stencil in red then black puzzle pieces stencil...the background middle of the card was part of the joker card. I bought the tiny deck long ago and never figured out what to use the cards for so voila! a use!

Here is mine, going on with the childhood theme.
Clip journal reads: "Playing games reminds me invariably of my father. We played often: in summer, we would take a badminton or dart set to the park, and in winter, it was board games in the cosy kitchen at his place. He even taught me chess, which I still love – even though I never won. At best, he would let me have a draw…
The photo is of Dad in 1939."

Paper, cutouts and mini dominoes are from Club Scrap kit "Games"; Scrabble letters from Jolee's Boutique; dice peel-off corners from Craft Creations. No idea where I got the mini chess figures...they have been in my stash for ages!

This is my entry for this week. I had a little trouble trying to figure out what I was going to do, so I went with a Las Vegas theme of 'games', as DH and i love to go there to throw our money away! We even got married there.

Ruth Ann - the tiny cards are really cute. Lovely card! (I don't know Texas Hold Em but your version of it sounds fun!)

Here is my card for this week. I had a lot of cards from games that I never heard of. I bought them as ephemera from SkyBluePink so this was a good excuse to use parts of 5 of them. I also used some checked vellum over them. I couldn't find my extra Scrabble tiles so our game is short one "O" now.

Marianne, great card. And a very clever way of making use of what you had (and didn't have)...
