Deck of Art - 3 of Hearts - What's On Your Desk? - Due 7/01

Post by pbp908 »

What's on your desk? I never know what's going to be on mine from day to day thanks to the supplies stealing cat, but it's always an interesting and eclectic mix. I'm going to put some unrelated things together and see if it can be called art! What can you come up with?

Here we go- my mix. The base is an ATC that went wrong, covered by a green scrap from a tag made ages ago. The butterfly piece was a stamping that didn't quite work, so I used the piece of paper to drag orange and yellow ink for a faux madras plaid. I liked the resulting "trash" piece so I saved it. The ribbon is, sadly, all that's left of Cedric's get well tag from Jake Henderson. I don't remember where the Scrabble piece came from or the green flower brad. Art? Who knows? But it's a good representation of the chaos on my desk!

It's great! And boy are you quick. I'm too sleepy to even go in and look at my desk tonight but I should have time to play tomorrow. I love these challenges!

And again, good thing I scanned it or it would just be a memory. The only consolation is that I can't find the Scrabble piece or the flower brad, so maybe the :censor: cat that ate the card swallowed them and they'll hurt coming out.

Now I've got to find another 3 of Hearts and make another card. :angry48:

I kind of like the distressed look of it. It has so much character now :tomato:

I'm just finding this post for this week. So this theme is just whatever is laying around on our tables now?

Why don't I package up that :censor: cat and send him to live with one of ya'll???? You'll send him back real fast. He's eaten the ATC and Cedric's get-well card from Jake, carries my supplies from the desk throughout the house, takes my sea sponges off the desk and gives them to Cedric to chew up, climbs the shelves and removes whatever he darned well wants to eat - he even took a watercolor pencil out of the container and chewed it up. I've just about had it with the dratted pest. And he's so damned proud of himself, too.

ROTFLMAO - I guess I'm lucky - my cat only get on the desk and knocks things on the floor. Provided he/she both/all have not tried hockey, I can usually find everything - LOL

My card is also for a challenge on another group where we are doing a weekend Crop involving art as inspiration. The card is based on Jackson Pollack's painting, The Key.
On my table I have a catchall basket for little stuff I don't feel like putting away somewhere else so the postage stamps, circles from a CS Retreat, word "muse" all came from there. The one blue circle says Smile Big but the iridescent paintstik I put over the whole thing caused glare.

Now I'm going to put it away so the cat can't it!
