July 2009 Scrapbook Challenge
Re: July 2009 Scrapbook Challenge
I like it, too!
Re: July 2009 Scrapbook Challenge
Hello, I started playing around with this photo of power lines and cables which I took out of the bus window while going through France a few weeks ago.
I thought they looked like advancing aliens, so had a go at the black and white challenge.
The papers are CS Extra! and Science. I used that white sparkly ink we got in the PB one month for the title, then I sprinkled it with hologram silver embossing powder and zapped it with the heat gun.
Kathryn.

That's an awesome layout, Kathryn! I love the way you used the photo!

Thankyou Gwen, it was a "nice sunny day" photo before I messed around with it!

Oh, ah, the start of the artsy album for this year's trip to Austria! Wow, I thought it was raining. Is it all photoshop or did you really take water to paper? Either way, I love it with the fibers wrapped at the top, that black Science paper and the stamped title.
Re: July 2009 Scrapbook Challenge
That's very different and very cool, Kathryn.
And, Christy, I like yours, too, especially the quotes on the background paper.

Thankyou Marianne. When I said "a more artsy album" I really meant that the pages would have a bit more stamping, patterned paper etc and more embellishments than just a brad in each corner and a strip of ribbon along the bottom! I think this is definitely a "one off".mpizzazz wrote:Oh, ah, the start of the artsy album for this year's trip to Austria! Wow, I thought it was raining. The picture is all Photoshop. As far as I can remember I tried to turn it into black and white and then added a Watercolour filter. It looked black and white on the monitor so I was really surprised when those colours appeared!

I think it's cool. Aren't the art filters fun?

Very nice job ladies. All of the LO's are great.

As I said earlier, Pam, I really appreciate getting back to a partially done album. I sorted through some family photos over the weekend and weeded out some duplicates and some bad prints. This landscape double LO is for my 3 Sisters album -- my grandmother and her sisters.
This is the middle sister on Key To My Heart, which had a lot of color combos. This is on pink and green. I used ink to edge the cutouts and stamp the 25. Not my favorite -- too many photos and too little space.

Beth I so enjoy looking at the layouts you do for your heritage albums. Something about the old pictures, they look like they have stories to tell.

I am not sure if I like it, not really happy with anything I am doing right now. Anyway this pic was on my desk and decided to use it. The 2 older ones in London.
I love this LO Christy! You don't usually make any mention of the blending in your family, as this LO does. But, it doesn't hurt to put it front and center once in a while, as our country still needs to blend a bit better overall, with all races and creeds.

Love it Beth! It's not often you have so many heritage photos of one person.
Love the timeless look of the layouts you do.
