This week end we did some cleanup on one of our palm trees and got a several of these palm boots. I'm trying to think of how to use them as an art base for an ATC. They are somewhat flexible, waxy feel to them, about 1/16 inch thick, cropodile punches right through crisply, cuts with my tonic scissors easier than cardboard.
I will probably end up with alot of these once I go through them and find usuable pieces. If anyone would like to try playing with this material just post here and the next time I send something to you in a swap I'll include some pieces. I might be able to get 4x4 out of some of them, but it looks like ATC size is no problem. Maybe a 3x6 if someone was thinking of long, skinny book pages.

Re: An interesting art supply
I'll give them a try. It'll be interesting to see how they "age", won't it?

I'm sure that you'll come up with a really neat use for those. I use to see them laying on the ground down in So Texas and wondered if anything could be done with them.
