Somerset Apprentice Magazine, Anyone?

Post by mpizzazz »

Has anyone seen the new Somerset magazine, Apprentice? It is supposed to be techniques. What intrigues me is the picture of Michelle Ward's work in the ad in the June/July 2009 Stamper's Sampler. I once had that photo as my desktop wallpaper for weeks and drooled over it.

I just went to the web and searched for it. I've not been to a bookstore in ages, so I've not seen it in print, but based on the description, it seems like it would be an extremely useful thing to have in my library, given that I can't seem to make anything that doesn't come with clearly defined instructions. :?

I've seen these publications at Barnes and Noble in the past - I'll take a look this weekend and see if they have a copy.

I won't be near any stores until next week so let me know if anyone finds it at a Michaels, Joanns, B and N, etc. Thanks!
I just wonder if it might not be too basic for us so wanted to check it out first. I do know that most of their publications are beautifully done.

Come on, you guys, you know what I mean by 'too basic'. And that doesn't include the two of you, Julie and Beth!

my only complaint with a lot of their "specialty" issues is that they rarely have new stuff. It seems that they take like things from other issues and lump them together. Still that being said, once I find a copy I will give it a look see and then make the buy or not buy decision

especially if I have had a couple of wines, when crafting... LOL...

Now wine/drinks does get my creative juices flowing so I need instructions.. :)

I bought it with a 40% off coupon at Joanne's over a month ago - really enjoyed it - read it cover to cover, haven't actually tried anything (the story of my life) - wondering when the next issue will be out or how often it'll be published.

Right there with ya Sharon! Not only do I need step-by-step instructions when sober, but they're doubly important when crafting under the influence. :drunk:

I did not see it at B&N yesterday - but I have the same feelings as Christy regarding them.
