Embossed tin foil

We had a Christmas Card swap on our NC Retreat this weekend. April made a beautiful Christmas Card using tin foil. She told me how, but I have forgotten already.

April if you're out there can you tell me again?

Take a piece of cardstock an wrap tin foil around it (the cardstock makes the tin foil sturdier) you can tape the edges on the back side-when you glue it down to your card base won't see it.
Stick it in your embossing folder and run through whatever machine you have.


I didn't see her cards but this is how I do it.

You can also cut open soda cans fairly easy and run them through too.

Laurie I think she said do the AI first, then emboss and then rub StazOn over it. Just saw Christy s answer and she is corrrect.

also, if you visit your auto supply store or walmart, pick up the silver muffler repair tape..it's thick enough to emboss, and has the peel off paper on the back so you can adhere it to your card...i use it all the time.

Here is the only one I have here at present. It was done with the muffler repair tape. I stamped and embossed "faith" then rubbed the repair tape over the embossing to create the raised image. The tape was AId previous to embossing and I sanded over the raised image to remove the AI from the word. The background is a mask, glimmer mists, and distress ink. The i is dotted with an eyelet. Sorry for the blurriness, my Canon is out for repair.
