very unhappy right now

Post by Monica »

So I thought I'd check my e-mails and see what might have dropped in there today (was hoping for a job offer) and what do I see but my lss' weekly e-mail. Damn it. After almost 3 years, she's closing the doors, due to the economy and people buying from the chain stores. :angry42: Now I'll be stuck with Joann's, Michael's, and a PNW chain called Craft Warehouse..... so I guess once I get a job I'm an internet shopper. I feel so sorry for Julie, though... she's one of the nicest people and had such a great store. :angry48:

To quote Donkey..... "I need a hug"

Sorry! Our locals closed some time ago. I do hit the chains on occasion but do a lot of mine on the net.

I'm unhappy right with you. The mom & pop stores are consistently driven out by the corporations and we all know where those profits go - right out of the country. It's the very reason I do most of my grocery shopping at the Farmer's Market. It's too early for me to start ranting though.

Oh Monica, I am so sorry about that. I know, I too would feel the same way if our's closed. They carry so much more than the big chains do.

Hang in there and here is a hug! :happy94:

Thanks for all the hugs! :happy94: I was just so upset when I read that last night. I have supported her as much as I could afford, and spent a little bit more on some items because I was buying from her rather than online or from a chain store, but wanted to support her. This economy is just killing everything, and the big chain stores are undercutting the little mom & pop businesses so much that we have empty buildings everywhere you go in town. So sad.....

Monica, I'm sorry to hear that. I really miss our LSS here. The chains just don't have the same heart and soul. :happy94:
